The mailorder

To share a little bit of personal information here; Hanna and i are expecting a baby by the end of January. Which is awesome. It will be our first and we are really looking forward to it. As far as the comicmailorder is concerned, well, i will try and keep it running as a good housefather but there are always unexpected things coming up ofcourse. For more inside information on how comic dads handle their newly born babies, i will gladly recommend Ville Ranta's "Isi on vähän väsynyt" (Daddy's a bit tired) for those who can read finnish.
In the meantime you can upload your comic collection with the new books of Chris Ware, the new Mome, the new Comics Journal and pour your eyes over the comic newspapers of Fort Thunder called u> Paper Rodeo
I received a stack of free comics (part of the free comic book day in the states), i will be giving them away to anybody who orders some comics. It's a 20 page comic by Andy Runton about his popular "Owly" series. Hey, it's for free so who's complaining?

Shipping costs: I charge only the stamps. Calculate the weight of comics you ordered and add 150g for the package. Then check postage rates for prices. Beware however, if the package is thicker than 3cm or if it is heavier than 2kg, you have to look for the price of "paketti".

Ordering info: Just e-mail me your order to jelle.hugaerts at kolumbus.fi After I receive your mail, I'll send you the account number and when the money is transferred to my account, the order is sent out to you. Sold out items can still be ordered but it will take some time before they arrive.

ACME NOVELTY LIBRARY 16
There is an annoying phrase in dutch that says "life is for the fast ones", i hate to use it but in this case (the new book of chris ware) it is unfortunately true. This book will never be reprinted so if you wait too long you will miss out forever. It's a lame salespitch but i am just a middleperson trying to warn you. For four years long chris ware has been publishing books with stories which had previously already appeared in his acme novelty series (jimmy corrigan, quimby the mouse) and now it all changes with number 16 in the Acme Novelty Library. Anyway, what do we have in this book? Well, it looks stunning, 96 pages hardcover bound with goldprint. It's all Rusty Brown and features Chris Ware as an art teacher who cut off his ponytail with the motto "you could always grow it back". The first day of school for a girl and her kid brother, a burn out teacher and his 9 year old nerd (dork) son; all interwoven in this episode of an ongoing story.

PAPER RODEO 15
Paper Rodeo is a free comic newspaper from Providence closely related to the artists of Fort Thunder (or what's left of it). I managed to get my hands on a few issues of this paper, due to shipping costs and what not, i can’t really give it for free but 2 euros is fine. Each paper looks like an all out attack on a drawing board, like piirustuskoulus or so. Mostly unknown artists but Matt Brinkman, Ron Rege jr, Lloyd Dangle are popping up now and then.
Price: 2 euros
Weight: 45g
